Localization Matters
Localization plays a major role in the success of many web applications around the world. One example would be the TradeMe which is dominating the country of New Zealand. TradeMe outranks Yahoo! and Google when it comes to local traffic and products. It is also a fact that the big companies that are based in the United States do not always dominate the international markets. This is mainly because of the cultural and language differences experienced within the other countries. Another reason would be the increasing number of overseas clones of certain successful applications produced in Silicon Valley such as Digg and Flickr.
