Cloud Computing to the Masses
The concept of cloud computing is really nothing new, just a revised version of the client-server application configuration with the only difference being the lack of a dedicated server with the application and the information existing on the same virtual plane. The people who need to use these applications would then have to pay rent for the time and computing power consumed while they accessed the apps and data instead of having to purchase dedicated software and hardware to use the necessary applications.
Cloud computing is getting there with more and more industry experts working to fast make everything a possibility, working on all fronts to get everybody onto the clouds. Google, IBM and many others have independent programs on their own standards that would come out and combine to make up the cloud. Security is still one of the biggest concerns of these web industry leaders with some headway made through constant deliberation. Cloud computing may not be available for all of us in the near future but you may be using some webapps that are actually working on the foundations of the new standard. Time and more effort is needed to make this all reality but surely it will come in the near future to serve us all and help make the world a smaller place.
