Sometimes the best way to dominate a market is to be the most basic product. Wikipedia did just that when they offered to be a free source of knowledge. Although the site was banned by universities due to the lack of credibility (what with the fact that they have no experts in their pay-roll) this surprisingly did not deter the massive support Wikipedia has been garnering from the public. Today Wikipedia has improved its services by making their information much more available to the none English speakers and also incorporating multimedia services that used to be only exclusive of expensive online libraries such as Encarta and Britannica.
