The year of 2006 can be considered as the year where social network emerged. There is probably no individual that uses the internet who is not familiar with YouTube, MySpace or Facebook. These sites showed strong growth during this year and what could be considered the highlight was the purchase of YouTube by Google for a staggering $1.65 Billion! RSS continues to enter the mainstream of the internet community being integrated to Internet Explorer 7. The ground work done by the major players in 2006 assures a tremendous gain in web technology for the year 2007.
